HOMM3 portraits

I've realized that it's not terribly difficult to make my own portraits. I'm not super motivated to across a broad spectrum. It's hard to make portraits that look like the original versions, but better (although I guess if you used the original image as a prompt, it'd probably be easier) and I don't have a Midjourney subscription. I'm not super good at prompts, and that's the time-consuming and difficult thing for those who are anyway; getting the prompts to give you the image you want.

But there's a handful of heroes where I never much liked the original image, and I'm struggling to find a great replacement for various reasons. Because I never much liked the original image, I'm OK with alternatives that don't really look like the original as much. I've used some AI generated stuff—a Nosferatu to replace Thant, a Robin Hood to replace Kyrre (most of the alternates make him look like a girl), and a few air and water genasi images to replace the water elemental hero in the Conflux (Lacus, I think her name was? and Fiur, the energy elemental too) and Cassiopeia, the nymph hero from the Cove (the ensrick image just didn't quite work for me.) I'm coming around to ensrick's idea that the heroes should be humanoids, and that the elementals just don't look good. Plus, they're recycled images from various Might & Magic games often, and just don't look like they fit the same.

Here's my own interpretations; which I'll probably use (spoiler alert, for when I eventually get to these heroes.)

Brissa (I'm a little more undecided still on this one)

Fiur

Lacus

Kyrre

Aislinn

Clavius

Thant

Cassiopeia

Alagar

I've also replaced the Alagar portrait with the infamous "Black Aragorn" art, but that's just a place-holder until I can get a better AI image (that isn't copyrighted) to use instead. I've generated some Midjourney art before, and I liked the results, but because of high demand, you have to be a paying subscriber to use it now. I'll see if I care enough to do that temporarily.

UPDATE: Although I can't generate my own prompts, I can search what has previously been generated. Finding lots of good fodder there. Maybe even better than the images I've used above. I think I found my replacement for Black Aragorn too; although it makes an Alagar that isn't black, he is bald, and looks more like a druid. I like it a lot, actually. I've added more images, included my "final" Alagar.
