If the movie is actually good and entertaining, in some ways that's almost worse. Race-swapping Commissioner Gordon and Catwoman (even if that was first done way back when the cast Eartha Kitt to replace Julie Newmar in the late 60s) just normalizes the process, increasing the theft of American culture and heritage from actual Americans by the Fake kind who hate us.
Oh, I'll see it. My wife already bought tickets for Saturday morning matinee for us, my daughter and her boyfriend, in fact. But I'm a bit wary and my expectations aren't super high. The movie industry has long been inhabited by the absolute worst kinds of people (read Shirley Temple's autobiography where (((Arthur Freed))) exposed himself to her when she was 11 while in the office next door, (((Louis B. Mayer))) was groping and sexually assaulting her mother; (((David Selznick))) chased her around a locked room when she was 15, (((Samuel G. Engel))) tried to rape her, and (((George Jessel))) sexually assaulted her. All while she was underaged, sometimes dramatically underaged.
And as the last few years have given them license, so they feel, to rip the mask off of their hate, it's hardly surprising that even relatively decent and entertaining movies will vandalize and loot white people for their stuff with this kind of race swapping. The Daredevil show did it too, by oddly race swapping Ben Ulrich. It's just ubiquitous. But Gordon and Catwoman aren't relatively minor characters.
