SWTOR Update 2.0

I put some stuff in the comments, but let me spell it out a bit better here. After I made that post, I made quite a bit more progress. I decided to skip the flashpoint Directive 7 with my smuggler, as well as the planetary story on Corellia, so I was able to finish the class story quite easily last night. In fact, after I did so, I started up my Jedi Consular and did all of Tython (there isn't really class and planetary stories for the first planets, which are really kinda like half-planets in scale.) I ate the XP boosts that I got, and I landed on the fleet at level 15. I don't know for sure if that's "normal", but I'll pay better attention to that as I start the next three classes that I have left to do. It'll make some difference when I'm doing my recording bid; what I'd like to do is have a single look that I take throughout the entire "show." However, given that some of my favorite cosmetic items are from the high level heroic crates, you can't wear them until you're 10th level at the least. I have a handful of items that I can't wear until I'm 15th. But being able to hit the fleet and update my look makes some sense, I suppose. I'll have a few other things get update in the look of the game as time goes on; I'm thinking in particular of characters like Risha that you interact with quite a lot before she becomes your actual companion, and you can't update her look until she's your companion. The same is true for all of the companions, for that matter, but she's one that you have kickin' around on your ship for the entirety of the first chapter before she actually becomes your companion, which seems to be the longest run.

A few other things are ones I want to pick up in the cartel bazaar, and they don't bind to your legacy, so you have to pick them up in person. So again, you can't get everything you want until you get to the fleet, and even then, it's best if you get to the fleet as level 10 at a minimum, and level 15 is even better.

There's a little bit of stuff I can do behind the scenes, like do the heroics on the starting planet over again and not record it, or something, before heading to the fleet. But more likely, I'll just add a little placard in the video as the character arrives on the fleet in post production editing saying that my characters have updated their equipment once they arrived on the fleet. But after that, I'd like to settle pretty much on one single outfit that I do all of the class story with.

However, because I'll also be recording planetary stories, exploration and heroic missions, and the bonus series, but keeping that separate from the main flow of the class stories, it would actually make sense to have a different outfit to do those in. It helps keep it separate from the class stories, and emphasizes that it's a different flow.

Anyway, I've had a super grindy day today so far, and probably will continue to do so into the night as I play a bit more. I thought I'd be grinding the rakghoul event, but I actually haven't very much; I've much more been grinding heroics as a last hurrah with my smuggler to make money to buy some stuff on the GTN. There are two cartel/GTN armor sets that I still want to get before I'm ready to do my recording (and granted, it's not like I'm only days or even weeks away from starting that; probably more like six weeks to two months, or maybe even more.) One I think I can buy on the GTN with the credits I've been grinding, if I can get almost a million more in the next little bit, but the other I'll have to use actual cartel coins for. I don't want to spend real money for that, so I'm glad I don't have too much of a hurry to get it; I should have my monthly subscriber and security key dumps in a few days, but I will need at least one more month of those, maybe two, to afford the armor set I want to to unlock it in collections.

Anyway, I think I can do the heroic grinding that I want still this evening before I'm done, and I think I can grind the three characters still through the rakghoul stuff. Then... I doubt I'll do the War for Iokath with my Jedi Knight, although that's a high priority, so I'll probably just start doing some Agent stuff. Because my agent is almost max level, I'm actually thinking that I can leave off of the planetary stories and exploration and heroic missions. So, with any luck I can do the class story for Quesh tonight without any issue.
